RF / Microwave · Antennas · Wireless Systems · Satellite Communications

I work on radio hardware: antennas and phased arrays, microwave structures, and the chains and links built from them. Mathematics and physics first, then simulation, then the instrument.

Summary

Elec & RF work

Phased arrays · RF chains · satellite payloads

One personal platform and two academic RF design projects, all in progress.

Teaching

Electromagnetics & materials physics

Teaching Assistant - third-year engineering students

Maxwell equations in matter, the Poynting vector, dielectric and magnetic media, polarisation and magnetisation, permittivity and permeability, interface conditions and electromagnetic losses. The same material sets the width of a microstrip line, the loss of a laminate and the pattern of an antenna.
